under the Department of Economy, its activity being to realize the revenues
from passenger transportation and advertisement
Public
Transport Development Centre, subordinated
directly to the Manager of Metropolitan Public Conveyances Co. Ltd., Sofia,
where development, designing and innovation take place.
The activity of Metropolitan Public Conveyances Co. Ltd.,
Sofia includes:
organization, management, inspection and funding of the public transportation
on the territory of the Metropolitan Municipality, as an integrated transportation
process,
uniform planning of the exploitation activity in Sofia; timetables of public
conveyances movement and optimizing public conveyances routes,
using and maintaining the information-and-management system for inspecting
and controlling the traffic on the basis of GPS identification,
using and maintaining a uniform automated system for collecting passengers
charges,
advertisement-and-information service rendered to the public transportation,
maintaining, repairing, and building new elements of infrastructure: railways,
contact and cable network; traffic-information system;
extragarage facilities such as public-conveyance stops and the signs and
penthouses that indicate these, terminal stations, bus stations and bus stops.
The rights of the sole owner of Metropolitan Public Conveyances Co. Ltd.,
Sofia shall be exercised by the Metropolitan Municipal Council.
